Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm Wedding Photography

What stands out to me about wedding days at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm, aside from the gorgeous scenery and amazing event staff, is the variety of event spaces they offer. Whether you’re planning an intimate wedding of 20-50 guests or a larger wedding of over 200 guests, they have a variety of ceremony and reception options for you to choose from.

This wedding venue is very accommodating and allows for a simpler wedding planning process because you can have both your wedding ceremony and reception in the same place! I have found that when your wedding ceremony and reception take place at the same venue, everyone is much more relaxed throughout the day, which as a documentary wedding photographer, allows me to capture more genuine and natural moments!

Wedding Photography

Hey! I’m Jason! I’m a professional wedding photographer based in Northern Virginia and I’m passionate about serving fun-loving couples with documentary wedding photography. I particularly enjoy working at wedding venues close to home and throughout the Loudoun County area.

My mission in photography is to create meaningful images. A meaningful image to me is one that documents a special moment in time while capturing authentic emotion. I believe weddings are an experience filled with countless meaningful moments and thus, should stay far away from becoming a photoshoot. For this reason, I use a photojournalistic approach to capture the natural epic and emotional moments throughout the day.

Weddings are awesome because they are passion-filled from beginning to end. The authenticity in the air excites me and it’s so much fun to document the special moments and help couples relive their special day. The final gallery is a visual heirloom that lasts forever and I’m grateful for the trust couples place in me to immortalize such a special time.

First Look

For this wedding, the bride and groom both showed up prepped and ready for their intimate wedding. The bride decided against a traditional wedding dress in favor of a special white wedding romper. I love it whenever brides and grooms insert their personalities throughout different parts of the wedding day. This alternative attire was unique and a first for me!

We started the day with a first look which took place on a bridge located just behind the wedding venue building. This was a perfect spot for the first look since it was just far enough away from the venue for the couple to have some quiet alone time. The groom was overcome with emotion after seeing his bride which was such a joy to witness and I immediately felt a strong bond between the couple. Following the first look, I spent 15 minutes with the couple to capture their portraits.

Following portrait time, the couple connected with their college friends and so we snapped some fun group photos. Everyone was so genuinely happy and showed up ready for the celebration!

Wedding Ceremony

Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm has multiple options available for your wedding ceremony. On this wedding day, my couple chooses to exchange their vows in one of the venue’s spacious outdoor options. This wedding took place in the middle of May so it was quite toasty outside, nonetheless, we were able to get some fun candid, and emotional photos throughout the ceremony!

Family Formal Portraits

Immediately following the ceremony, the guests were asked to go back inside to enjoy cocktail hour. It was during this time that we began knocking out family formal portraits. This is the only part of the day where I take a more ‘photoshoot’ style approach as we go through a list of photo pairings provided by the couple. Family portraits are an essential part of the wedding day, though one that can take longer than necessary if not managed properly. This is why I help my couples create an efficient family formal list that can be completed within 20-30 minutes. Since it was quite warm everyone was happy to know we’d be done quickly!

Wedding Reception

The couple chose to have their wedding reception venue in the Audubon Bar & West room inside Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm. This room can accommodate around 60 guests and is a sweet spot to gather your loved ones after the ceremony.

The couple made their entrance and spent the remaining time laughing, having fun with their friends and family, and eating French toast for brunch. The evening finished with a Nothing Bundt Cake cutting and bubble send-off. What a ridiculously fun way to end a wedding!
