I had an amazing experience capturing Katie and Stephon’s intimate Fairfax Old Town Hall wedding. Although their special day took place on a chilly November evening, they were surrounded by 60 of their closest friends and family who created a warm and cozy atmosphere.
This wedding day had many layers to it, both literally and figuratively. The reception had a particularly sweet touch to it – each table had a cake centerpiece, with each flavor representing significant moments in their relationship. One cake represented the location of their first date while another represented where Stephon proposed to Katie, etc. This was an awesome creative idea which was a first for me.
One of my favorite aspects of photographing wedding days are the personal touches that couples incorporate throughout the celebration. The cake centerpieces are one example of how Katie and Stephon made the day uniquely theirs. It’s these custom mementos that keep wedding days so exciting for me. Each couple has a unique story, and I love documenting the aspects that are special to their love story.
The entire evening was filled with laughter and joy. Old Town Hall in Fairfax, Virginia served as a great backdrop for the multiple layers of love that Katie and Stephon share. From the private vow exchange to the candid moments during the ceremony and reception, every photo tells a story of love and celebration.
